Equine Initiative Implementation
Equine Initiative Implementation
About the Implementation
On a cold January day in 2007, the University of Kentucky held a formal press conference announcing the added emphasis in equine endeavors and the new equine undergraduate program. More than 150 attendees braved the cold to attend the event on Maine Chance Equine Campus.
By Fall 2007, a new teaching pavilion was completed on Maine Chance Equine Campus, just in time for the start of the inaugural class of the Equine Science and Management undergraduate degree program. The first class saw a total of 46 students.
In March 2009, the Equine Science and Management undergraduate degree program was formally approved and the official first graduate of the program walked the stage in May 2009.
