Associate Director of Advancement/Director of Development, College of Agriculture, University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky

I serve as the chief development officer for the College of Agriculture.  Fundraising responsibilities include not only procuring funds for 18 academic programs but also The Arboretum (The State Botanical Garden of Kentucky), The Maxwell H. Gluck Equine Research Foundation, and the Cooperative Extension Service.  Additionally, I serve as a liaison between the College and the Kentucky 4-H Foundation regarding to the coordination of fundraising efforts as 4-H is a College program within the Cooperative Extension Service.

October 2003 – December 2005

Director of Regional Gifts, University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky

As director of the Regional Gifts Office, I supervised University major gift officers assigned to a geographical region to identify, cultivate, and solicit significant gifts for the University.  Additionally, the private foundation officer and the project coordinator positions report to this position.  Responsibilities include management of communications between the University community and Regional Gift Officers to coordinate and strategize efforts with donor prospects; supervise the efforts of the private foundations office to facilitate an honest broker system for the University through the identification and matching of University priorities and private foundation guidelines; and oversee the efforts of the Special Programs Officer who works with programs that report directly to the Provost to assist with the fundraising efforts, including annual giving, major gifts, and volunteer relations as well as providing stewardship assistance to the Office of Academic Scholarships.  During my tenure, I reorganized the University’s major gift office to reflect a geographical designation and a donor-centered development program as well as develop and implement a TOP Prospect Management System for the University.
