Dressage and Eventing Team

The University of Kentucky Dressage and Eventing Team was designed to allow students to compete and support each other at local shows and events, and provides a social network for students interested in each discipline of riding.

The Team competes at several IDA (Intercollegiate Dressage Association ( competitions annually. Each university is allowed to select four riders each semester to compete against other universities at four different levels, both for individual awards and as a team. In April 2008, student Alison Wilaby became UK's first national champion, riding at First Level.  Each fall the team hosts tryouts and every member is encouraged to attend weekly meetings and take lessons with the team coach.

There is no intercollegiate competition for event riders, but members try to attend events and stable together at local horse trials and combined tests. Team members can support their university by wearing UK saddle pads, helmet covers and other clothing!

The Team hosts clinics, speakers and several educational opportunities for both Dressage and Event riders throughout the year.
