Professional Biography
Mary Jane Little is originally from Wake Forest, North Carolina, but has proudly called Bourbon County home for the past 12 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Community and Leadership Development from the University of Kentucky and a Master’s in Agricultural Sciences from Murray State University.
In her current role as Academic Coordinator, she supports students through career mentorship, teaches Equine Event Planning, co-teaches EQM 106, and plays an active role in student recruitment, alumni engagement, and event coordination. She is also the advisor for the UK Ranch Horse Team. With nearly a decade of experience in Cooperative Extension—as a program assistant, agent, and associate—she brings a deep-rooted passion for helping others succeed. Her commitment to guiding students as they discover and pursue their passions is what fuels her work each day.
Outside of her professional role, she is most proud of being a mother and wife. She and her family live on a farm where they raise beef cattle, soybeans, and hay. She is dedicated to promoting agriculture and passing that love on to her daughter and the next generation. She remains active in her community as a member of the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association, a volunteer with the Bourbon County Extension office, and as a member of the executive board for her daughter’s school PTS.
